“Waste not, want not” was a strong theme of the rationed post-war years in Britain. Juliet Worsp, also known as ‘The Constant Gardener’ to Terra Viva newsletter readers, grew up in that era with a mother who could conjure up means from next to nothing and a father whose passion was growing vegetables.

Forty-seven years later, having manged a family of six, developed her own passion for growing vegetable with three large country gardens, and bundled all her talents together to run a café, Juliet is well-versed in making the most of nature’s surplus.
